We work primarily with stakeholders in education, training and employment that service young people aged 15 – 19 years in the Wyndham and Hobsons Bay Local Government Areas to address barriers that young people face in successfully transitioning to and completing Year 12 (or its equivalent).
We are not direct service deliverers, rather we are a network that brokers and advocates for relationships that improve education, training and employment outcomes for our youth cohort.
Post Compulsory Education, Training and Employment
"To empower every young person in the cities of Wyndham and Hobsons Bay to optimise their educational opportunities and be provided with pathways in education, training, further education and sustainable employment."
To provide all young people, both at school and outside the school environment, with:
ongoing support through the development of integrated career, education, training and employment pathways for each individual;
a system which will track their progress through training, employment and other pathways after leaving school;
a counselling and support service for those who return to school or to further education and training after leaving school at an early age;
information about the best employment opportunities and where local skills shortages exist, and to encourage local employers to understand the skills and needs of young people wishing to enter the workforce for the first time.
A key role of the LLEN is to advocate to State Government on policy that impacts on young people’s ability to complete Year 12 or its equivalent. WynBay LLEN is keen to act as that mouth piece for any young person wishing to undertake education, training or employment.
WynBay LLEN is an active member of many networks in the region that are engaged in the delivery and improvement of current and future education, training and employment programs.
